SGD Help: Shared & Unshared Similarity Group Summaries

Contents

Description

Shared & Unshared Similarity Group Summaries provides a summary of all the sequence groups (clusters) shared between yeast and worm (Shared Alignment Groups) as well as those found only in either yeast (Yeast Only) or worm (Worm Only). To learn more about how the sequences were placed into specific groups see Description of Methods.

Using the Shared & Unshared Similarity Group Summaries page

The Shared & Unshared Similarity Group Summaries page contains three tables; Table I displays information about the sequence groups shared between yeast and worm (Shared Alignment Groups), Table II(i) displays information about sequence groups found only in yeast (Yeast Only) and Table II(ii) displays sequence groups found only in worm (Worm Only). Each table lists the number of sequence groups and the total number of yeast and worm ORFs found within those groups for a given P-value either constrained to >80% alignment or not.

To view the sequence groups for a particular P-value as a list just click on the appropriate row in the column titled Sequence Groups. The list of groups retrieved ranks them according to their Clustal W score. There is also a short description of the group included wherever a descriptor was available. The html sequence alignment or the rooted tree of a particular group is obtained by clicking on either align or tree for a particular group.
